Classic TTC rap
Went to Sherbourne station today to get my post-secondary student card (because this is the only place in the city to do it). After waiting in line for nearly an hour I finally come to a sign saying that my university ID, the only piece of ID with me, wasn’t enough to get this student card. The TTC website clearly says that a university ID OR timetable OR letter of acceptance are acceptable to receive the student card. But apparently the TTC likes to make me and countless others waste their days as well as their money. So thanks for that TTC.
I agree that i would like to see more issues with service brought up by our readers but, i feel that there is also a decline in rider etiquette that also has to be brought to light.
In order to get to work I have to ride both the Yonge/University/Spadina line and the Bloor/Danforth line.
One thing I notice every day is the quality of the trains on each of the lines. Trains on the Yonge/University/Spadina line are typically cleaner, newer, and in better overall shape than trains on the Bloor/Danforth line, which are often crusted in something sticky and reek of fart.
Of course the neighbourhoods along the yellow line are more upper-middle to upper class than those on the green line, and I often wonder if the TTC favours them by handing out the nicer trains.
Or maybe I read too much into little things and am just bitter because the bulk of my trip is spent on the green line fart tube. But I can’t be entirely wrong, can I?
Interesting point!

the better way
i wouldnt have a complaint about this being a daily reality.
My boyfriend and I were on the 501 Queen street car Saturday afternoon and started to smell something. As the smell became stronger, I instantly recognized the sent - nail polish. A woman a few seats in front of us was giving herself a manicure. Out of nowhere, another woman sitting closer to the painted lady snapped, “Can you please stop painting your nails? It’s really inconsiderate and stinks!” My boyfriend and I just turned to each other and laughed; we couldn’t believe that someone would be in that much of a rush that they would need to paint their nails in transit.
I hate when you have somewhere to go and you end up being late because the bus you need to get on is late. You’re waiting at a station/stop for 20 minutes for a supposedly-FS bus, and when it finally comes, there end up being three of them. You get on the last one because it’s nearly empty… Then the bus driver decides to go real effing slow (ie: literally 30 km/h in a 60 km/h zone!!!) since there are already two buses in front of him. It’s not my fault that you were late/early… I get that you wanna pick up customers, but SOME OF THE CUSTOMERS ALREADY ON YOUR BUS ARE ALREADY LATE. How about we all just drive the speed limit?! That way no one is late. THANK you, TTC!
I absolutely hate it when I’m waiting for the bus and it comes not only late, but super full. It doesn’t stop there. there’s an empty bus behind it and then it speeds pass the super packed bus you just got on and picks up the rest of the people at the next stop.
